Outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan was photographed hand in hand with his incoming replacement as the two toured Aso Rock earlier today. The president also officially handed over the comprehensive report of his administration to President-elect Buhari at the State House in Abuja today, May 28th after the facility tour of Aso Villa. Congratulations to Gen Buhari As INEC Releases Final Election Results!

Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential candidate, has just become the official winner of the just concluded 2015 presidential elections. With the announcement of the final results from Borno State, Buhari officially emerged as president-elect of Nigeria. It took days and hours for INEC to get all the results as the electoral officials travelled into Abuja by air and road after the collating results at the local government levels.

Incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan, has already conceded defeat in a phone call to his opponent hours ago, a gesture that has been hailed as historic and which has cemented him as a champion of democracy. There is no doubt that with a smooth transition in May, GEJ's role as a elder statesman would've been solidified. Congratulations to both GMB and GEJ, they have played well.

Peace Committee Visits & Congratulates President Jonathan For Accepting Buhari's Victory

The Peace Accord Committee, headed by former Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, has congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat and congratulating the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari. According to PremiumTimes, the chairman of the committee and former Head of State, Abdusalami Abubakar, said the committee was spellbound when Mr. Buhari informed them that Mr. Jonathan had called to congratulate him.

He spoke with State House correspondents shortly after leading members of the National Peace Committee for the 2015 general elections to a closed-door meeting with Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Read his speech below...

According to recent tweets by a current minister in the present administration, President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly conceded defeat and has congratulated Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress on his victory in the presidential elections.

Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka also added that he will address the nation with his concession speech after meeting with other PDP stalwarts. If this information is correct, GEJ is an example of a politician that truly understands the meaning of democracy! I look forward to his concession speech and a smooth transition.

SURE-P Chairman Fired For Attending Obasanjo’s Birthday Against President Jonathan's Orders?

Earlier today, Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati announced that the SURE-P chairman, Martin Luther Agwai, had been relieved of his post  in order to re-energize the parastatal. However, new reports say that Mr. Agwai was sacked for attending former president Obasanjo’s birthday event last week against the directives by the president that no one in the current administration was to attend the festivities.

Mr. Agwai would be the second SURE-P chairman to be sacked after disagreeing with the president. He replaced Christopher Kolade, who left office after criticising the president. The statement by Reuben Abati says Ishaya Dare Akau, an experienced administrator in the civil service is to replace Gen. Agwai with immediate effect. Nigerians Commend President Goodluck Jonathan's Visits To Baga and Mubi

President Goodluck Jonathan visited Mubi, Adamawa State and Baga, Borno State, two towns that had previously been taken over by Boko Haram. The president met with the troops who took back the towns and continue to fight and push back the Islamist terrorist group.

In his speech to the troops, the president applauded them for recapturing territories formerly held by insurgents. He said that he and all Nigerians were very proud of the bravery, competence and patriotism. So far many Nigerian, both those who have been in Jonathan's camp and his opposition have spoken out positively on his visit to the troops.

The focus of the #Presidentialmediachat this evening was on the upcoming elections and the security issues surrounding postponing the elections. He said it was not only security that cause the shift in date, he referred to Lagos where he said only 38% have their PVCs, maeaning that many will not be able to vote.

On Boko Haram, he said he had meetings with the President of Chad and he said before he can send troops to Nigeria, the AU have to be involved. He also said Boko Haram doesn't necessarily have to be completely wiped out before elections are conducted. GEJ Visits Lord's Chosen Church, RCCG Holy Ghost Service On Campaign

President Goodluck Jonathan last night worshiped at the monthly Holy Ghost Night at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway. This morning he also made a stop at the Lord's Chosen Church Charismatic Revival Ministry of Pastor Lazarus Muoka today, also in Lagos.

GEJ was photographed kneeling down for prayers in front of Pastor Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God during the Holy Ghost service. This time however, the renowned man of God did not lay hands on the president, something that had led to some breach of protocol reports in the past. See photos below...

The Economist Endorses Buhari - Calls Goodluck Jonathan 'An Utter Failure'

Wole Soyinka slammed incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan earlier today for his failure in leadership, encouraging that no one should vote for him in the forthcoming elections, and now the Economist magazine, one of the foremost publications in the world, has come out to endorse Rtd General Mohammadu Buhari, the president's main opponent in the elections. In the choice facing Nigerians come February 14, the Economist says;

"Nigerians must pick between the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, who has proved an utter failure, and the opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari, a former military dictator with blood on his hands. The candidates stand as symbols of a broken political system that makes all Nigeria’s problems even more intractable."

President Jonathan Moves To Postpone February Elections By 6 Months?

President Goodluck Jonathan, is actively working on plans to postpone the general elections, earlier scheduled to hold February 14, according to SaharaReporters. This is based on the fact that the National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, had publicly called for the postponement of the elections on a couple of occassions.

The NSA initially made the call while speaking at a Chattam House lecture in London on Thursday, January 22, saying that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was yet to distribute Permanent Voters Cards (PVC), to all eligible voters. During a BBC World Service radio interview broadcast on Friday, January 23, Dasuki, again repeated his call for the elections to be postponed.

President Goodluck Jonathan and Dame Patience At Sister's Burial in Bayelsa

President Goodluck Jonathan's  younger sister, Nancy Jonathan-Olei, has been buried in Bayelsa State. The funeral service, which held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Otuoke, was attended by a somber-looking Jonathan and his wife, Patience.

Mrs. Jonathan-Olei died on January 4 at the age of 52 and according to President GEJ, she died of a heart related ailment.

President Goodluck Jonathan Has A PhD Certificate But No Thesis?

APC presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari may have presented his WASC photostat and statement of result but some PDP champions are not satisfied. Some say the want the original certificate, while others point to the name disparity. Others say Buhari perjured himself by saying his credentials were with the army.

Now, APC supporters are shifting the qualification issue to president Goodluck Jonathan though his certificate has been notarized by INEC. Some of them have taken to twitter, asking that GEJ also present his doctorate thesis, this is after former President Obasanjo allegedly referred to the inconclusive nature of the PhD. I noticed this advert by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose causing a lot of ruckus online yesterday, but is it really different from the dirty campaigns we've seen so far from PDP, even going as far as forging a medical report indicating that Buhari has cancer?

Anyways, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organisation led by the Director of Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has spoken out to say they did not endorse the advert.
